The two weeks between embryo transfer and the serum beta-hCG blood test (the “Two-Week Wait” or 2WW) is frequently described by patients as the most emotionally intense phase of fertility treatment.
Evidence-Based Guidance for the 2WW
Continue all prescribed luteal phase progesterone medications strictly as directed. Avoid heavy high-impact exercise, but gentle walking and regular work routines are encouraged to maintain healthy blood flow. Most importantly, resist the urge to take early home urine pregnancy tests, which can yield false negatives or false positives from hCG trigger shots.
